Ethan has turned in to a little boy lately. It is so much fun to be able to play with him and watch him discover things around him. He jabbers all the time now hand gestures and all. He even pauses as if to say "do you get me?" One of his new favorite pass times is to play with blocks. He has two sets one set that is big foam blocks and one that is more like big Lego's. Depending on what mood he is in is what you will find him sitting on the floor quietly at work. If Matt or I try to build a structure he immediately knocks it down, wanting no help. He also loves cruising in the cozy coupe Uncle Shane got him for Christmas. He will open the door throw his blanket in and put his cup in the cup holder shut the door and just sit in it. Then a few seconds later he opens the door pulls his blanket out and climbs back in. Matt loves to play daddy bulldozer, by pushing his car with his head as if he is a rhinoceros. He just kills himself with laughter, we are talking full belly laughs. Another thing he likes to do is rock out to music, whenever we are in his room I turn on the radio and he loves to move and grove to the music. Bopping his head to the music. I wouldn't be surprised if he did something with music one day. Since its better to witness then to have me describe it here are a bunch of videos of Ethan lately. Enjoy!

Luna J'lovegood & Little man
Luna J'lovegood is her name and tearing around the house is her game. Our latest addition to the Wigmore home is Luna our kitty. She took no time settling in and defiantly has brought a new spin to our already sometimes chaotic house. But she fits right in because she can be feisty one second and a complete lover in the next. Ethan for the first few weeks when she was scared and not totally truth worthy of us would spend most of his time with his tummy on the ground butt up in the air head buried under the bed trying to coax her out. Now that she is at home here you will find her tearing through the halls and sliding on the hardwood. Or if she is sleepy she perches herself up on top of the tan couch, a great place to survey the kitchen and family room (also high enough Ethan can't get to her). Ethan loves her and sometimes they even play together. The smart little thing figured out how to turn one of Ethan's toys on, its a race car track that has a lever and when you pull it down the track spins. Matt said one day he was home and Ethan was still at daycare and he heard it going off. He thought it was odd so he peaked over the couch and sure enough there was Luna watching it spin and then hitting the lever once it turned off. Then later that night Ethan heard his race car track going off and went to investigate, the two of them sat there and played with the toy for twenty minutes. She also loves when we bring Ethan's large block set out, she likes to attack them and play in the hamper we keep them in. One time she poked Ethan with her claw so as almost to get back at her he picked up the hamper and started dragging her around in it. The funniest part about Luna is she has claimed Ethan's cars chair. As soon as Ethan goes to bed she parks herself in it taking over her throne. She will even snuggle with his stuff animals we keep on it. I would say she has successfully joined the family.

A blessing! Thank you
I saved this for its own blog because it was such a blessing it deserved its own blog. While in California we got the best Christmas surprise! My Papa Howard and Grandma Nancy a long with my dad gave us a truck. We have been going about eight months now with only one car and you would not believe how hard it has been. Matt and I had to carefully plan everything out, and most days he was stuck at home while I was at work. If he decided to take me to work we had to pay tolls four times not to mention double the time in the car and the amount of gas wasted. We became very reliant on Matt's parents to help us fill in the gaps, every week they had to pick Ethan up from daycare. I hope I am painting a picture of how much of a gift a second vehicle is for us.
Since they gave us the truck things quickly changed gears. Matt was going to drive it back and I was going to fly back with Ethan. Thankfully my mom agreed to fly back with me to help out. It came together so easily surprisingly. A long with a truck we also took something else home, a kitty! The litter of kittens my brother Matt's cat had needed homes, and well what can we say but we fell in love. Her original name was Lulu but when she got here we changed it to Luna Lovegood after one of the characters of my favorite book series Harry Potter. A super trucker by nature Matt got to Texas with the cat in about two days all the while mom held down the fort here while I went to work. In fact Matt almost had an easier time getting back then mom and I did , with a four and a half hour delay among other things.. hey I said almost. Anyways everyone made it home safe and sound.
Our life has improved 100% each one of us feeling a new sense of freedom. Not to mention a truck just plain comes in handy. "Hey babe can you drop off the rent check?" no problem... Oh we are out of milk mid week no problem. It sounds ridiculous but believe me the small things add up. I really want to take this time to just say THANK YOU for everyone's love and support towards our family. Everyone has played a role in making us successful in a time of our lives that has been ever changing. We are truly blessed to have such a loving family. My one wish is that one day we can pay everyone back in our own way when they need it most. We love you all!
A little note Luna is doing very well considering she has not been here that long. Her and Tuck are not best friends yet but neither were Ethan and Tuck at first and now look watch our Lassie and Timmy. They do however love to share the bed at night to snuggle up and go to sleep (on separate sides of the bed). Most mornings you can find Ethan laying face down grabbing whatever he can to entice Luna out from under the bed. Matt even made her her own scratching pad made of scrap wood from our neighbors and a piece of carpet. She is so good with Ethan and hardly plays rough. So far so good!!

Catch up
I wish I could make excuses as to why I haven't posted a blog in a while but the truth is the holidays came and went and well I just never found the time to sit down and do it. So here is a major blog that will catch you up on the last few months of the Wigmore household.
First thing is Thanksgiving! We had Thanksgiving at Bill and Gerry's house this year. I guess you could say we had two Thanksgivings this year. The weekend before Pat and Sara came out to visit for the holidays. Great Aunt Mary requested pot roast so that's what we had. They even brought her home so she could join in and see the newest member to our growing family Sadie!
On the real holiday Joel's parents came into town a long with my mom (Tammy) and Shane. The table was extra long and some of us even sat outside with the kids, lucky for us the weather was gorgeous. Matt and I talked about how Thanksgiving would sure be at hit with Ethan this year because everything that was being made we were sure would become a favorite. Sweet potatoes, stuffing, pumpkin pie... but funny enough he surprised us all with a new love cranberries! This year we had no major disasters with any of the dishes, which is a bit of a shock because most holidays you can't go without something being a little brown or crispy. Maybe that is why there was few leftovers, because we stuffed ourselves.
The rest of the weekend we enjoyed having my mom and Shane here. We went out and got a bunch of Christmas lights for the outside and Shane and Matt climbed up on the roof and hung them all. I think we were the first of the neighborhood to get them up! Ethan got spoiled with a new set of foam blocks from Mimi, and a CAT ride on tractor Uncle Shane got him. That night we couldn't stop laughing as we would build a structure and then Ethan would ride his tractor into it sending blocks flying. After, he would get off the tractor and walk around the house clapping and giving high fives.
The next weekend was my Christmas party at work. So as an early birthday present Shane surprised Matt and I and got us a room at the Country Club Resort it was being held at. Bill and Gerry agreed to take little man for the night, so we went out there a little early and got ready there. It was so nice considering it was pouring rain so we didn't have to worry about getting wet. We also had a friend from work and her husband come a little early and have a glass of wine. The party was very nice, first class all the way. The one thing I will say is that the band could have been more upbeat.. hey we all know I love to dance! One of the best parts was after it was over walking to the elevator and crashing, no long drive home for us (the place was 45 minutes away). The next morning as a part of our package we got to eat breakfast at a very impressive Sunday buffet. Even though we didn't go far I loved our little get away, THANK YOU to all that made it possible.
My actual birthday came in a flash. Ethan was very sick and I had to work. My my stellar husband, even while managing a sick child managed to make me the best birthday dinner ever! I had told him I didn't want to go out to eat, but that I wanted him to surprise me with one of his delicious concoctions. To accommodate that I wanted candles and a bottle of wine. He had dropped me off at work that day in order to take Ethan to the doctor, so when he picked me up I couldn't figure out why he was in such a rush to get home. Of course it was the one night that was just full of traffic. I started to rack my brain to figure out what he could have cooked that he would be so worried about. When we got home I got hit with the aroma that made my noise lead the way to the kitchen. And there it was a perfectly cooked Turkey! Thanksgiving dinner was my birthday meal, and if you know me you will understand why I say it was the best surprise dinner ever. He had the table all set even Ethan's high chair had a place setting. Ethan didn't feel good and so we had to improvise a little and ended up eating it on the couch. But I say the meal was still a home run.
Saturday night was Christmas Eve, it was so nice to have Matt be a part of our traditions. One of my highlights of this Christmas was when my Cousin Jamie made Ethan laugh like I have never seen him. She kept singing him this song about Chillie Willie and he would laugh so hard he would throw his face down into the couch and laugh. Christmas morning we ate breakfast at my grandma Nancy and Papa Howies house. And then we went over to my mom's house and all of us opened presents there. Ethan of course had a ton of presents to open, but he had no interest in opening them not even ripping the paper. In our stocking we got a disposable razor (it still had all the safety stuff on) and he would hold it and take a little bowl he found and pretend to shave peoples heads. It was the funniest thing! We kept an eagle eye on him so he wouldn't hurt himself but it was pretty funny. The rest of Christmas was fulled with LOTS of food and conversations. In fact we almost didn't open presents because it got so late. The Fagundes stopped by and Ethan and Clarke got to play together. I wish we would have taken a picture of them together but it was fun to see the babies play.
